Reception went on a trip to Matthew’s Plant Nursery with some of our Year 10 pupils. Year 10 were responsible for showing Reception the type of plants that are suitable, encouraging them to read the labels and exploring how to manage a budget to buy the plants. Reception were very confident in asking the staff how much plants cost and what different type of plants needed to survive. Year 10 enjoyed supporting younger pupils on the beginning of the learning about science and maths. Reception opted to buy some vegetable seedlings and herbs as they want to grow some produce that the kitchen can use in the future. Thank you to FOBS who paid for the plants, pots, canes and soil.
