This month in Music, pupils have been getting creative with the way that they create sounds. Year 2 had fun creating their own rhythms with ‘rhythm sticks’, where they had to carefully listen to stay in time with the pulse.
Year 3 created their own tunes on Glockenspiels to demonstrate their ability to hold the beater properly, strike a single key with accuracy and make up a simple melody using only 5 notes.
Year 6 got everyone into the festive spirit by composing their own Christmas melodies which they then performed to the class in pairs. They had to think about what rhymes they used and how they would structure the piece using ostinato rhythms.
