All students in year 8 and 9 at Braeside School, took part in a unique Forensic science workshop.
The day started with a crime scene that was supposed to have taken place at our school. Students then had to commit to a series of decisions that took them through an intensive investigation involving crime scene analysis of blood spatter, hair and fibres, shoe Prints handwriting and fingerprints and forensic experiments including chromatography, DNA profiles and digital forensics.
Students were given a brief overview of the law, judicial system and courtroom process before the students ran their own trial during which their own murder investigation was presented.
Throughout the day, students were introduced to a whole host of potential careers within the police, investigation agencies, forensic science, and the law.
This workshop was an interactive day of fun, challenge and excitement which was greatly enjoyed by the girls.
