At the end of last term, Years 2 and 5 went to visit the National Portrait Gallery in central London. The children were able to see first-hand how artists can use a range a creative tools to represent themselves and other people. It was a great opportunity to consolidate their leaning about different famous people from both the past and present day.
The Year 2 children really enjoyed taking part in the workshop ‘What is a Portrait?’ where they explored various exhibits around the gallery before heading back to the learning area to create a piece of artwork themselves. A great day out!
