Year 10 GCSE RS group – South Woodford Islamic Centre and Mosque

Year 10 visited a local Islamic Centre and Mosque (South Woodford) for a trip to support their syllabus for GCSE.

Pupils were given a tour of the mosque to discover how buildings underpin worship, to find out what religious centres do for the local community and to have some of their philosophical questions answered.

Pupils were interested to hear how free will and predestination can co-exist as concepts, how pilgrimage changes perspectives on life and to understand the differences in beliefs within one religion. As always, our students asked excellent, thoughtful questions and were fantastic ambassadors for the school.
