Year 11 are working towards the end of their GCSE course in Chemistry. This week they really used their initiatives. They worked in teams to create their own systems for making oxygen, hydrogen and carbon dioxide gases. Each team made their gas, using the equipment available in the science lab. They then went on to demonstrate their methods to the rest of the class and then test for the gas using known chemical tests. We had a lot of fun with the squeaky pop test which gave a very loud bang!
